1115 Waiver Comments

Bi-State Primary Care Association has submitted the linked comments to the Vermont Agency of Human Services regarding the proposed renewal of the 1115 Waiver (Global Commitment to Health).

Why is this important?

Medicaid payments come from a combination of state and federal sources. When Vermont wants to be flexible with how we use Medicaid payments - for example, using health care dollars to support food and diet - that flexibility requires federal negotiation. Yes, this is an extreme simplification (the slippery slope from extremely simplified to overly complicated is short and steep). The comments presented by Bi-State outline our perspective on priorities in that negotiation.

The summary of the State of Vermont proposal is found here.
