Hunger Vital Sign, July 8

The Hunger Vital Sign Community of Practice is holding a virtual listening session on July 8th from 12:00 - 1:30 pm. See the announcement below:

This September, the Biden-Harris Administration will host the White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health to drive solutions that end hunger and increase healthy eating and physical activity by 2030. On Friday, July 8th, from 12:00 - 1:30 PM EST, Join the Hunger Vital Sign National Community of Practice for a virtual listening session to share your ideas and help inform a national strategy that will be announced at the White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health in September 2022. Your input will directly inform the national strategy to be released at the Conference.

We are especially interested in hearing your ideas for bold, transformative, and equitable policies and actions that will help eliminate disparities and support the diverse range of individuals and communities that are impacted by hunger. While the scope of the White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition, and Health will include five pillars, this listening session will focus primarily on pillar two: Integrate nutrition and health. Thus, we will explore ideas that prioritize the role of food security in overall health. To learn more about this listening session, click here. The Hunger Vital Sign is a social risk screening tool for food insecurity. It is also one of the best-established, validated screeners and often serves as a model for developing other social risk screens.
