Produce Prescription RFA Released

The Request for Applications for the GusNIP Produce Prescription Program (PPR) at the USDA has now been posted. Applications are due Thursday, June 30th.

The primary goal and objective of the GusNIP Produce Prescription Program is to demonstrate and evaluate the impact of projects on (1) the improvement of dietary health through increased consumption of fruits and vegetables; (2) the reduction of individual and household food insecurity; and (3) the reduction in health care use and associated costs.

Given this demonstration and evaluation goal, there is a robust library of resources detailing the evaluation process for PPRs, posted online for public review at the Nutrition Incentive Hub (a free portal access account is required to view the resources). As with the Nutrition Incentive grants, which are now a separately released RFA, the guidelines for PPR this year include more interaction with the Nutrition Incentive Hub prior to applying. That includes a consultation and letter of support.

A webinar explaining the PPR RFA will be held on April 27th at 3:00 pm, registration is available online.
